Eleonora Gravagnola
Eleonora Gravagnola Italian actress, associate director and director.
She studied stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, where she also attended the Academy of the Theatre Bellini.
She has undergone acting and directing courses funded by the European Union, and has studied with teachers including Lio Bau, Jos Houben, Marcello Magni, Michèle Millner and Bruce Mysters, and had internships at various US theatres, at Ariane Mnouchkine’s Théâtre du Soleil and at Peter Brook’s Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord.
She directed the education opera Puerta Abiertas at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia and The little Sweep at the Theatre San Carlo in Naples
She works regularly with Damiano Michieletto as an Associate Director and Assistant Director for opera, including for La scala di seta, La gazza ladra, L’italiana in Algeri, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il viaggio a Reims and Guillaume Tell, Idomeneo, Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte, L’elisir d’amore, La bohème and Il trittico : Tabarro-Suor Angelica-Gianni Schicchi, La Damnation de Faust, Die lustige Witwe, Macbeth, Rigoletto, Der Rosenkavalier, Katja Kabanova and Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci, La Cenerentola, working in theatres in the UK, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Russia, Germany, France,Denmark, Australia, Lituania and Japan.
She has revived several of Michieletto’s productions.
Gravagnola has also worked as an assistant director of opera with Michal Znaniecki for opera including “ Samson et Dalila” , “ Il trovatore”;
with Laurent Pelly for opera including” Hansel und Gretel”;
with Lorenzo Mariani for opera including “ Adriana Lecouvreur” , “ Barbiere di Siviglia”.
She has taught acting to student singers at the Centre of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía and at the Accademia della Scala, Milan.
